Monster Love--Color Sketch

Color sketch. I'm going to be trying to update this blog more frequently, but that means that the artwork that's here is going to be a little less finished. This definitely could use some clean up work. I like the idea though. :D

I claim this world

I will be painting this one up, but I like the liveliness of the sketch so much, that I thought it would be a shame if people didn't see it. And yes, I know who the spaceman looks like . . .

The Elephants of Jupiter

I ran into an old funny journal of mine entitled "the Elephants of Jupiter" but all it said was "I wonder what they'd look like" And then something like this popped into my head

Pack(ag)ed

This week's theme for Illustration Friday is "Packed." I'm not sure if "Packaged" exactly fits the bill, but I hope it comes close enough.

Yes, the second image is the first with a different texture and layer blend mode over the top. I love layer blend modes and textures.

Canned Monsters

Unfortunately, there are many imaginary friends, even those who might be initially thought of as harmless, that get out of hand. In this case, the only solution is to have them canned, and assure the anxious youngster that imaginary friends don't need to breathe, and that this particular imaginary "friend" won't be able to come near them ever again.

Once Was Enough

He never asked to be buried in sand again (3rd entry for Illustration Friday)

Spring-Boing

This little guy is for the Creature of the week challenge over at www.conceptart.org. The current weekly challenge is "Boredom Killer" These little creature live under children's beds and get much of their food from the children feeding them leftovers and snacks (and, often, their unwanted vegetables). They go to great lengths to keep their children-simbiotes entertained, because if they didn't, the children might neglect them, or worse--look under the bed and find the baby Spring-Boings, who aren't nearly as durable as the adults.

Great White Submarine

Seeking to expand my repetoire of environments. Though this is probably a bit simplistic for that . . .

Will O the Wisp

On foggy nights in the salty marshes, little lights appear to lead astray hunters and others who aren't careful.

My second entry for Illustration Friday. Please click to full-view, you can't see the little guy properly without doing that.

This picture is older than Sour Milk Monster, but not by much, and I felt like sharing.
